1890s Oversized Cabinet Photo / Roller Polo Team

Found this nice photo up in Maine. May be the polo team from Bath. Oversized, measuring 13 1/2" x 10 3/4", without the mat; the largest polo photo I've found to date.

Unusual Turn Of The Century Photo Postcard / Roller Polo Team

Turn of the century photo postcard. Unknown whether the team was called Harrison's Polo Team, or if one of the players was named Harrison, as written on the back. This is one of the most unusual roller polo photos as the goalie's leg pads are riveted steel. I've never seen anything like this before.

1899 Bath Maine Roller Polo Team

Cabinet cards of the "Bath Polo Team". Slight differences in posing and taken at the same time. Identified on back as having been taken on January 28, 1899.

     Identified photo. The Ventura California Roller Polo Team. Reverse of photo also puts year at 1905.           Photo 7 3/4" by 5 3/4".

Ice Polo Cabinet Cards C. 1890

Ice polo was basically the same sport as roller polo, only played on ice wearing ice skates. Rare photos.

1880s Women's Roller Polo Team

Photos of women's roller polo teams are quite hard to find. This team is from Wisconsin and the photo is dated 1886.

10 1/4" x 8 1/4".  Nice composite photograph with team and individual photos. Larger roller polo photos are harder to come by. 1903/1904 season.

1890's Roller Polo Team

                          Unidentified 1890s roller polo team, photographed in New Haven. Uneven  scalloping of three edges on the cabinet card would indicate the photo was taken in the first half of the 1890's, or even as early as the last few years of the 1880's.

Early 1880s Roller Polo Tintypes

Wonderful early 1880s tintype of two roller polo players. Such tintypes are quite rare. Actual size 3 3/8" x 2 3/8". Note that they are leaning on early goal posts.

Wonderful assemblage of three photos, all members of the Lansing Michigan Roller Polo Club. On the back of each photo is their positions, where they hail from and the dates. It is unusual to find photos with this much information and to find photos of members of the same club together.

Arcade Roller Polo Team Champions 1906 - 1907

"Real photo" postcards were one of the predominant forms of roller polo ephemera during the early 1900s, as opposed to the albumin cabinet photos executed in the 1880s and 1890s. Note: Roller polo ephemera is relatively difficult to come by.
